High dimensional stability: MD-Relax
The MD-Relax system for the DORNIER transverse stretching and heat setting machines (TDO – Transverse Direction Orienter) is based on a variable clip pitch ensuring a very high dimensional stability by controlled inline relaxation of the film in machine direction.
This system was designed in 1980 together with one of the most renowned Japanese film manufacturers for film shrinkage of up to 2 %. Today, the system produces reliably with up to 20 % MD shrinkage. There is no need for additional offline post-treatment. Films from DORNIER film production lines are therefore ideal starting materials for applications with high heat exposure, such as film for solar cells, displays or rechargeable batteries.
